Peter Williams
BSc (Hons), MBIAC
Peter Williams has a BSc (Hons) degree in Agriculture from the University of Reading. He is a Director of RAC, and has extensive experience of assessing the impact of development on agriculture, including producing proofs of evidence for planning inquiries.

Peter Williams is a practical agriculturalist with his own farm and a strong background in land use planning matters. He has specialised in the assessment of development proposals on agriculture which has required interviewing affected farmers and constructing farm budgets to assess the likely effect of development on farm viability. He has considerable experience of assessing the impact of developments on soils and agriculture as part of multi-disciplinary teams, and has been involved with the preparation of numerous chapters on Agricultural Land Use for Environmental Impact Assessments. These have related to transport and infrastructure projects, mineral extraction and restoration, landfill restoration, new housing, industrial and commercial developments and habitat creation schemes.

Another area of specialty is the preparation of planning applications for agricultural development. He has considerable experience in the preparation of appraisals for agricultural workers' dwellings both acting for farmer-clients and local authorities; he has appeared at numerous Planning Inquiries and Informal Hearings to give expert evidence.
